A Tough Battle Ends in a Heartbreaking Loss
Fellow Nationals fans, what a nail-biter we had on our hands! We came up just short tonight with a final score of 6-7 against the Miami Marlins. Our boys fought hard, showing plenty of grit and determination right down to the final out.
A Rocky Start Turned Rally
Things started off a bit shaky for our Nationals, but we sure showed some fighting spirit! After a quiet couple of innings, the Marlins got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the 2nd with a home run from Matt Mervis. But don't count us out that easily! We bounced back strong in the 4th inning. Keibert Ruiz singled to keep the bases moving, and Nathaniel Lowe stepped up with a key walk to bring in our first run. Then, props to Josh Bell for blasting a single to drive in two more and level the game at 3-3!
Mid-Game Challenges
The Marlins didn't let up, unfortunately. A few tough innings saw them pull ahead, thanks largely to clutch hitting from Griffin Conine and a key double by Eric Wagaman in the 5th. Despite solid relief pitching from our crew, the Marlins edged the lead to 7-4 by the end of the 6th inning.

Heart-Pounding Finale
Heading into the 9th, we were just one run behind, trailing 7-6. The tension was high, and the hopes were alive! Unfortunately, Miami's Faucher closed out the game, and despite our best attempts, we couldn't break through their defense. A tough result, but I’m proud of our team’s grit and determination. There's always another game, and our Nationals will come back swinging! Until next time, Nats fans!
