Nationals Take Over Early
What a game last night!

Building on the Lead
As we moved into the mid-innings, the Nats continued to strengthen our grip on the lead. In the 4th inning, after Jorge Alfaro reached on an error and loaded the bases with a couple of walks, Jacob Young was efficient with a sacrifice fly that brought Alfaro home. Then, Wood managed an RBI, deterring a potential double play but still adding another run for us. The 5th inning saw Daylen Lile crush a 410-foot solo homer extending our score to 6! The bats were sizzling tonight!
In the 6th, Abrams danced his way from a walk to third courtesy of a steal and a balk, setting up Bell again, who was trustworthy under pressure and secured Abrams’ run with a neat sacrifice fly. By this point, the scoreboard comfortably read 7-1.
Shaky, But Solid Finish
While our guys continued to hold the line, the 8th and 9th innings presented some challenges. The Marlins refused to go down quietly. In the 9th, Victor Mesa Jr. struck with a double that brought in two runs, prompting some nail-biting moments as Miami managed to close the gap to 7-5 with Sanoja advancing to third. Luckily, José Ferrer stepped in and sealed the game, ensuring the Nats emerged victorious. It got a little too close for comfort in the end, but a win is a win! Let’s keep that momentum rolling, Nats!
