A Hot Start for the Phillies!

What an electric atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park tonight! The Phillies wasted no time in the bottom of the 1st inning. After a couple of singles by Trea Turner and Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm blasted a three-run homer to left field! And just when we thought the excitement was over, Nick Castellanos followed it up with a solo shot of his own. Phillies up early, 4-0! 💥

Phillies Keep the Pressure On

The Nats couldn’t answer back and the Phillies added to their lead in the 4th inning. Weston Wilson led off with a triple, which was immediately cashed in by Johan Rojas. Singles and doubles from Schwarber, Turner, and Harper piled on the runs, making it 9-0 by the end of the inning. The excitement was palpable, and our boys were cruising! 🏃‍♂️💨

Washington Tries to Fight Back

The Nationals managed to put up a couple of runs in the middle innings. Keibert Ruiz homered twice, in the 5th and 7th innings, but it wasn’t nearly enough to make a dent. The Phillies were playing fierce defense, and every player seemed locked in and focused. Great to see our pitching and fielding silencing the Nats' bats when it mattered. 🔒⚾

More Fireworks in the 8th!

The 8th inning brought more magic. Weston Wilson continued his stellar game with an RBI double, followed by a two-RBI single from Johan Rojas. It seemed like the Phillies just couldn't be stopped tonight, extending the lead to a commanding 13-3.

Closing It Out in Style

In the top of the 9th, Phillies relievers shut the door on any hopes of a Washington comeback. Stellar defense and sharp pitching sealed the deal. The game ended with Tena being the only blemish on an otherwise perfect inning, who was promptly taken care of with a fielder's choice. Final Score: 13-3. What a convincing win!

Overall, an absolutely dominant performance by the Phillies! It’s games like these that get you excited about our postseason chances. Go Phillies! 🔔🎉
