Tough Day in St. Louis
Fellow Nationals fans, today wasn’t the day we were hoping for as the Nats fell 1-8 to the Cardinals in St. Louis. It seemed like an uphill battle from the start. Our bats struggled to find rhythm and connect, while the Cards found more success on their home turf.Bats Fall Silent
The offense had a quiet day, with our only glimmer coming from CJ Abrams early on with a ground-rule double. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to capitalize on it. James Wood had a tough time at the plate, striking out multiple times, while Josh Bell and Luis García Jr. were unable to find gaps in the defense. We have to tip our hats to the Cardinals' pitching crew—they were on point.
Missed Opportunities
Our sole run came in the 8th inning when Daylen Lile managed to draw a walk and was pushed around the base paths before scoring on a fielder's choice. It was a small consolation, as Drew Millas and Jacob Young couldn't find a way to generate more runs. Sadly, our moments were few and far between today.
Looking Forward
It's a long season, and while today’s output stings, we know we'll bounce back. We need to reset and come back stronger next game. Win or lose, Go Nats!
