In the 4th inning, the Nationals managed to scrape together a run off a wild pitch by Civale. With Luis García Jr. scoring to put the Nats up 2-1, the Rays were suddenly playing from behind.
7th Inning Heartbreak
The game slipped away in the 7th inning when the Nationals erupted for six runs, highlighted by key hits from CJ Abrams, Jesse Winker, and a two-RBI triple from Harold Ramírez. Trailing 8-1 was too much to overcome.Missed Opportunities
Our Rays had chances but just couldn't capitalize. Randy Arozarena managed a couple of hits, and Brandon Lowe worked a walk, but strikeouts and double plays killed our rallies. There were glimmers of hope, like Arozarena's single in the 7th, but they were quickly extinguished.
