Early Angels Battle
What a rollercoaster of a game!

The Los Angeles Angels started strong tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks. We managed to get on the board first, thanks to some heads-up baserunning and clutching hitting. In the bottom of the 2nd inning,
Jorge Soler drew a walk, and
Jo Adell managed to strike out swinging. However, that set the stage for
Travis d'Arnaud to double and drive in Soler. Subsequently,
Adam Frazier singled and brought d'Arnaud home, giving the Angels a 2-0 lead.

The stadium absolutely erupted when
Zach Neto blasted a homer in the 3rd inning, extending our lead to 3-0.
Struggles and Stumbles
Despite the early confidence, the top of the 4th saw the Diamondbacks'
Luken Baker hit a two-run homer to cut our lead to 3-2.
Matthew Lugo stepped up and doubled, allowing
Adam Frazier to score in the bottom of the 4th, raising our advantage to 4-2. By the bottom of the 7th inning,
Jose Siri's single provided us with another run, putting the Angels up 5-3.
Diamondbacks' Unwelcome Comeback
However, the top of the 8th brought an unfortunate downfall for our Angels.

The Diamondbacks rallied back, with
Yassel Soler crushing a three-run homer. That stunning and costly mistake shifted the momentum and left us trailing 8-5. Despite good efforts from some of our pinch hitters, the late rally we hoped for never came to fruition in the bottom of the 9th as the Diamondbacks' defense held firm. A tough loss, but we'll get them next time!
