Tough Day for the Padres
Hey, Padres fans.
Let's talk about what went down in yesterday's game against the Diamondbacks. It was a tough one for us – a day where the bats from Arizona were unfortunately hotter than ours. The final score, 11-1, wasn't what we hoped for, but let's break it down.The Diamondbacks Come in Hot
The first few innings were quiet, except for a ground rule double by Gabriel Moreno in the first inning. But things started unraveling in the second inning when Angel Ortiz singled to bring in Ryan Waldschmidt. A homer from Jorge Barrosa and another from Moreno in the third planted the Diamondbacks firmly in the lead, while our own stars like Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. struggled to get anything past their pitchers.
Brief Moments of Hope
We did have a fleeting moment of joy in the fourth inning, thanks to a homer from Gavin Sheets! His smash to right-center field put us on the board, with the game at 7-1. Despite the numerous substitutions and efforts from our bullpen, our hitting couldn't match up to the rally the Diamondbacks set in motion.Turning a New Page
