A Rocky Start in San Diego

Well, folks, it was a tough night for us Arizona Diamondbacks fans as we faced off against the Padres in San Diego. The game kicked off with a glimmer of hope, as Ketel Marte gave us an early lead by launching a towering homer to left field! But after his powerful display, our excitement was quickly quelled. The Padres answered back with a string of hits, including back-to-back doubles from Jackson Merrill and Xander Bogaerts, as they surged to a 5-1 lead by the end of the first inning. 
Rough Middle Innings
As the innings progressed, the Padres continued to add to their lead. Although Jordan Lawlar managed to walk and eventually scored thanks to some heads-up base running and a fielder's choice in the 3rd inning, the Padres capitalized on our miscues. A two-run homer from Manny Machado in the 3rd further widened the gap, and we found ourselves trailing 6-2. Our bats were mostly silent, with the only real threats being doubles from Alek Thomas. However, runs simply weren't in our favor as the Padres stretched their lead to 9-2 after five innings.A Tough Finish, But Heads Held High
In the late innings, the Padres kept the pressure on, adding more runs to bring the score to an imposing 12-2. However, there was a brief moment of relief in the 9th inning when Jorge Barrosa and Jordan Lawlar found their way home due to a fielding error, giving us a couple more runs on the board. Alas, the game concluded with a 12-4 loss. Despite this, the D-backs exhibited flashes of potential
