A Rocky Start But A Terrific Finish
The San Francisco Giants may have started off on the wrong foot, but they certainly ended the game on a high note!
Second-Inning Surge
The momentum shifted in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Christian Koss stepped up and smacked a glorious homer to left field, bringing home Wilmer Flores, Willy Adames, and Patrick Bailey for a total of 4 runs, taking the lead at 4-3! This inning certainly turned the tide for our Giants.
Holding Strong In The Middle Innings
Despite the Diamondbacks attempting a comeback with Corbin Carroll's solo homer in the 7th, the Giants' defense held them at bay. In the bottom of the 5th, Willy Adames delivered a clutch 2-run homer, further solidifying our lead to 6-3, while a wild pitch added another score for us (7-3). The 8th inning was the ultimate icing on the cake when Jung Hoo Lee crushed a homer to right, driving in Mike Yastrzemski and Heliot Ramos. That’s the insurance we needed, bringing the score to a comforting 10-4!
Closing It Out
Though Josh Naylor managed a late-game homer in the 9th, our relief pitchers kept things under control. Bivens ensured no further damage was done and sealed the game at a fabulous 10-6. It was a spectacular team effort demonstrating resilience, power, and tactical adjustment! A tremendous win for our San Francisco Giants!
What a way to finish! Keep the faith, Giants fans! Let's always remember that even when we start behind, we have the heart and talent to win.
