Tough Loss at Wrigley
Hey Cubbies! Another nail-biter at Wrigley Field, but unfortunately, we couldn't seal the deal as the Orioles edged past us with a 4-3 win. We started out strong, but the 8th inning proved to be our undoing.Strong Start from the Cubs
The Cubs kicked off the scoring in the 2nd inning when Ian Happ doubled to right, setting up the inning's momentum. Before long, Willi Castro powered through with a single, followed by a crucial ground rule double from Nico Hoerner that brought Happ home. Then, Reese McGuire contributed with a sac fly, bringing Castro in, giving us a promising 2-0 lead. In the 4th, Castro shined again with a triple, and Hoerner once again confirmed his reliability by driving him in. We were sitting pretty at 3-0.Eighth-Inning Heartache
Our pitchers were holding strong until the Orioles found their rhythm in the 8th inning. Westburg singled to bring Cowser home after a series of strategic plays. Then came the crushing blow - Gunnar Henderson hit a 416-foot homer that scored three runs. Just like that, the Orioles flipped the score to 4-3. Despite a solid defensive effort in the 9th, we couldn't break through their closing pitching.Hats Off to Our Boys
A hard-fought game for our Cubbies. Nico Hoerner was all over the field today, showcasing his skills both offensively and defensively. Meanwhile, Castro's consistency at the plate did not go unnoticed. We've got heart, and with a little more momentum next time, we'll be back in the win column. The atmosphere was electric, and the fans were the true MVPs cheering us on till the very end. Let’s regroup and come back stronger in the next one. Go Cubs Go!
