Rough Day in Detroit

Ouch, fellow Orioles fans! What a tough game for us in Detroit today as we got blanked 7-0 by the Tigers. 😞 We had a few moments here and there, but the clutch hits just didn't come for us. Kerry Carpenter and Gleyber Torres were particularly tough, both contributing to a Tigers' victory. Meanwhile, our bats couldn't seem to find their rhythm against the Tigers' pitching.

What Went Down

The game started with a promising single from Gunnar Henderson in the first inning, but unfortunately, it didn't lead to any runs. The Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the second, with Javier Báez doubling in two runs. Our struggles continued at the plate, as Gary Sánchez, Dylan Carlson, and Heston Kjerstad couldn't find a way to break through the Tigers' defense.

In the 6th inning, things really unraveled as McKinstry and Jung added onto Detroit's lead, bringing the score to a daunting 5-0.

Silver Linings

Jorge Mateo was a bright spot for us today. He went 2-for-3 and was aggressive on the base paths with two stolen bases. 🎉 Meanwhile, Ramon Laureano managed to get a hit in the 8th inning, offering a glimmer of hope, but it just wasn't enough to turn the tides.

Let's shake this one off and look forward to the next game. The season is certainly not over yet, and our Orioles are known for bouncing back. Let's keep the faith, Birdland. Go O's! 🧡🖤
