A Exciting Start for the Orioles
The Orioles burst onto the scene in the top of the first inning with a brilliant start thanks to Gunnar Henderson, who doubled to center and later scored on a stunning triple from Adley Rutschman, putting us ahead 1-0. Unfortunately, we couldn't hold onto the lead as the Angels hit back swiftly in the bottom of the inning, taking a 2-1 lead.Solid Defense and Offense Take the Lead Back
The second inning was uneventful for both teams, but our defense tightened its grip in the next few innings, keeping the Angels at bay. In the top of the fifth, Emmanuel Rivera reached base on a fielding error, sparking a fantastic response. Cedric Mullins doubled, and thanks to a sacrifice fly from Maverick Handley, Rivera crossed home plate. Mullins stole third and Ryan Mountcastle singled to bring him home, putting us back in the lead at 3-2.An Explosive Sixth Inning
The game turned truly Orioles-thrilling in the sixth. Ramon Laureano walked, stole second, advanced to third on a pickoff error, then scored on a wild pitch. Handley continued his heroics with a sacrifice bunt, allowing Rivera to score. Then came the showstopper – Gunnar Henderson smashing a two-run homer to put up a five-run lead at 7-2. Our guys were on fire!
Closing Out the Win
It was great to see our bullpen doing a stellar job of maintaining our lead. With Seranthony Domínguez, Bryan Baker, Yennier Cano, and finally Felix Bautista holding the fort strong, we surrendered just one more run on a solo home run by Matthew Lugo in the ninth. But in the end, securing that 7-3 win felt amazing!Go Orioles! What a team effort!
