A Strong Start in Anaheim
What a game for our Baltimore Orioles! From the get-go, we showed the Los Angeles Angels exactly what the Orioles are made of. In the top of the 1st inning, right after watching Cedric Mullins and Adley Rutschman sadly bow out with no runs, Gunnar Henderson lit up the field with a homer to right center, sending the ball soaring 400 feet! We broke the ice early, leading with 1-0.
Dominating the Second Inning
The second inning continued to see us shine brightly. With Ryan O'Hearn and Tyler O'Neill securing solid walks, Jackson Holliday seized the moment with a center single that drove in a run. After Ramon Laureano struck out, Emmanuel Rivera came through with a sharp single to left, bringing in another run and leaving us 3-0 up. Things were looking great for the O’s!
Holding Strong in the Mid to Late Innings
While neither team scored in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, the Orioles’ defense and pitching remained rock solid. The Angels couldn’t find an answer to penetrate in these frames, and while they managed to get a run in the seventh, thanks to a triple followed by a ground-out by Taylor Ward, our spirits remained high.Securing the Victory
In the top of the 9th, another show-stopping moment came from Gunnar Henderson. His triple scored Adley Rutschman and extended our lead to 4-1. The Angels tried to muster a late rally at the bottom of the 9th, but they were met by our impeccable closer, Bautista, who shut them down with two strikeouts and a ground-out to finish the game.
This fantastic 4-1 triumph over the Angels once again displayed the strength and determination of our Baltimore Orioles. Keep your flags waving high, O's fans, because we are soaring!
