Tough Start, Spirited Finish
Well, fellow Orioles fans, it was a challenging game against our rivals, the Boston Red Sox. From the very first inning, we found ourselves playing catch-up. Alex Bregman quickly put two on the board for the Red Sox with a 397-foot homer after Rafael Devers walked. However, Cedric Mullins responded heartily, knocking one over the right-field fence to show the Red Sox we weren't backing down!
Mid-Innings Battle
By the second and third innings, things were looking rough. The Red Sox's Kristian Campbell smashed another homer, sending them ahead 4-1. But we weren't out yet! In the third inning, Westburg's clutch single helped score our second run. Ramon Urias kept the hope alive with a single in the fourth, allowing Heston Kjerstad to cross home plate and trim the lead to 5-3. But, despite our efforts, the Red Sox’s bats came alive once again in the 7th, with Triston Casas homering to widen the gap further. Our Orioles Fought to the End
Even as the Red Sox tacked on another run in the ninth, our guys displayed grit. Jackson Holliday doubled in the final inning, soon coming home on a sacrifice fly by Dylan Carlson. Unfortunately, the night ended with Mullins striking out, wrapping up a valiant effort by the team. The Red Sox might have taken it 8-4, but our O's showed resilience! There's always tomorrow, Birdland! Let's keep believing.
