It started off a little rough for us in the first inning with Jarren Duran, Rafael Devers, and Alex Bregman each unable to get on base. But Carlos Narvaez got the ball rolling in the 2nd inning by knocking in Nick Sogard with a single to tie the game 1-1. Our bats started waking up in the 4th when Alex Bregman launched a homer to left, but the Tigers answered swiftly with Spencer Torkelson's own homer, putting them ahead again 3-2.Battling Back and Drama in Extras
The 5th inning was a productive one for us with runs coming from David Hamilton and Ceddanne Rafaela. Jarren Duran then singled in Rafaela to give us a 4-3 lead
Despite trailing, our Sox showed resilience. In the top of the 8th, David Hamilton stepped up and clobbered a 408-foot homer, bringing home two runs and making it an electrifying 6-6 tie!
Heartbreak in the 11th
The Tigers proved a tough nut to crack today. After an exciting lead gifted by Kristian Campbell's homer in the 11th inning, giving us a 9-7 cushion, our hopes for a win gleamed bright. But it was short-lived. The Tigers' Javier Báez returned for a devastating encore, hitting his second homer of the game, driving in three runs, and sealing the game for the Tigers 10-9.
Despite the loss, there were some fantastic plays and energy from our boys, highlighting that even on tough days, the Red Sox never back down without a fight. Looking forward to the next game, and as always, Go Sox!
