What a fantastic display of baseball by our San Diego Padres as we secured a 6-2 win against the Boston Red Sox right here at our beloved Petco Park!
Key Moments of the Game
Our offense really shone in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Freddy Fermin singled to center. Things heated up after Fernando Tatis Jr. was hit by a pitch, allowing Luis Arraez to drive both Tatis Jr. and Fermin home with a powerful double to center, putting us up 2-0.
Closing the Game with Style
Our boys kept the pressure on in the 6th inning, with Manny Machado stealing second, further capitalizing on our opportunities. Xander Bogaerts singled to left, letting Machado score, and Cronenworth drew a crucial walk which allowed us to bag another run.
The pitching and defense stood out as well, with our boys in the bullpen closing the game beautifully. Morejon and Morgan stood firm, ensuring no more scoring chances for the Red Sox.
