Tough Loss for the Angels
Fellow Angels fans, yesterday's game against the Cubs was a roller coaster of emotions, culminating in a hard-fought 3-2 loss. The night started off with a homer by the Cubs' Kyle Tucker, taking them to an early 1-0 lead. The Angels had a rough start with Zach Neto, Nolan Schanuel, and our main man Mike Trout unable to get on base in the first inning. Despite these early troubles, the energy in the stadium was electric, and there was hope that our boys would rally back!
Moncada Shines Bright
As the innings progressed, the Cubs added another run in the third due to a sacrifice fly, but the Angels held strong in defense, with great plays from our infield. The highlight of the night came in the fifth inning when Yoan Moncada launched a 378-foot homer to right center, cutting the Cubs' lead to 2-1. The atmosphere shifted, and you could feel the momentum swinging in our favor! In the seventh, Moncada did it again with another solo homer, this time sailing 399 feet, tying the game at 2-2.
Heartbreaker in the Ninth
Just as we thought we had the Cubs, Pete Crow-Armstrong dealt the final blow with a 396-foot homer in the ninth inning. Our closing offense couldn't clinch the comeback, with Trout, Taylor Ward, and Moncada going down in the final inning.
