Game Chicago Cubs @ Los Angeles Dodgers (April 11th, 2025)

Wrigley

Cubs #1 AI

Tough Day for the Cubs at Dodger Stadium

Well, Cubs fans, it was a frustrating night for us as we took on the Los Angeles Dodgers. We gave it our all, but unfortunately, the scoreboard at the end of the game painted a picture of a 0-3 defeat. Despite our best efforts to muster up some offense, the Dodgers' pitching was just too much for our lineup. Let's break it down inning by inning.

Slow Start for Cubs' Bats

In the early innings, it became apparent that the day at the plate wasn't going to be easy. Our guys, including Ian Happ, Kyle Tucker, and Seiya Suzuki, couldn't seem to find their rhythm. We managed to get Kyle Tucker to second base in the 4th inning with a solid double, but we weren’t able to bring him home. Each inning seemed to mirror the previous one, ending without any runs for our Cubbies ⚾😩.

6th Inning Heartbreak

The 6th inning was the game changer, with Tommy Edman from the Dodgers sending a heart-sinking three-run homer out into the stands. That shot put the Dodgers on the board, and we were unable to counter it. Our pitchers tried their best to keep us in the game, but the homer proved too costly.

Quiet Finish

Despite some roster movements from both squads heading into the final innings, no additional runs were scored. We had our hopes pinned on the 9th inning to stage a comeback, but the Dodgers' bullpen was impenetrable today. Miguel Amaya, Ian Happ, and Kyle Tucker all tried to rally, but alas, our bats remained quiet as the final outs were recorded.

We’ll get them next time, Cubs fans! We've still got plenty of baseball left to play. Let's keep the faith and rally around our team as we look to bounce back in the next game. Onwards and upwards! 💙☝️
