However, hits didn't come as easily after that initial spark, and some key opportunities were left on base. Over in the defense department, the Cubbies held the A's scoreless for the first few innings with a stellar performance. 
Athletics' Strong Mid-Game Rally
It was in the 5th inning when things began to slip. The Athletics came roaring back, starting with a homer from Max Muncy and a two-run shot from Lawrence Butler. The situation spiraled quickly as Shea Langeliers knocked another homer, placing the A's ahead 4-1. Our bullpen was tested, and despite a valiant effort, the Athletics extended their lead further in the 8th inning.Amaya Shines Again, but it's Not Enough
Despite the score, Miguel Amaya reminded us once again why he's crucial to the team, hitting another homer in the 6th inning, this time blasting it to center field.
