Seattle's Early Spark 🌟

Hey Mariners fans! There's no sugarcoating it — last night was a tough one as we fell to the Cubs with a 7-1 loss. It started with a flicker of hope in the 2nd inning when Josh Naylor doubled to left, followed by a fortunate run scored due to a pickoff error by the Cubs' second baseman. We momentarily tied the game 1-1. That got us all on our feet, dreaming of a comeback. Our excitement was palpable — we were in it, at least for a moment. 😅

Cubs Take Charge 🚨

However, things started slipping away in the 6th inning. The Cubs' Dylan Carlson crushed a homer to left-center, putting them back ahead. The floodgates remained open as two more Cubs runs crossed the plate moments later, turning the game to a 4-1 affair in their favor. Our guys felt the heat — Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena couldn't connect in their at-bats. As much as we hoped and cheered for a late rally, the Cubs were relentless, adding on three more in the 8th. Ouch. 👎

Not Our Night, But We’ll Bounce Back 🔄

Our Cal Raleigh fought with a solid double, and Leo Rivas showed patience with a walk in the 8th inning, but the Cubs' pitching was just too effective. The game ended with three strikeouts during the bottom of the 9th, sealing our fate. Despite the final score, there's always a silver lining: our guys played with heart, and Josh Naylor showed his batting prowess. We'll hold on to the highlights and learn from the rest. Onward and upward, Mariners fans! Let's rally our support for the next game. Go Mariners! ⚾💙💚
