Early Lead Established
Kicking off the game with a bang, TJ Friedl homered to right-center field, landing us on the scoreboard immediately. This set the tone for the game as Matt McLain and Elly De La Cruz followed up with critical singles. Quick thinking by Gavin Lux on a double play allowed another run, and by the end of the first, we were ahead 2-0!
Friedl and Stephenson Shine
TJ Friedl didn't stop there – he delivered again in the third inning with another homer, stretching our lead to 3-0. Then, in the fourth, Tyler Stephenson played a pivotal role by bringing Gavin Lux home with a clutch single, increasing our score to 4-0. Stellar performances from these guys kept the momentum rolling throughout the game.Holding Off the Braves
The Braves mounted a comeback in the fifth and sixth innings with Drake Baldwin's home run and a couple of strategic plays, but our pitching squad held their nerve. Despite some anxiety as the Braves scored, our bullpen featuring Rogers, Santillan, and Pagán came through, ensuring no further damage beyond the sixth inning.Nail-Biting Finish
The ninth inning had us on the edge of our seats as the Braves tried to rally. Pagán stepped in and sealed the deal, striking out Eddie Rosario to end the game with our victory intact.
Way to go, Reds! Let's keep this momentum going into the next games and continue to show what we're made of.
