Initial Burst of Reds Excitement
It was a promising start for our Cincinnati Reds as Elly De La Cruz came out swinging with a triple in the first inning. A sacrifice fly from Jeimer Candelario brought De La Cruz home, giving us an early 1-0 lead!
Building Up the Lead
In the third inning, De La Cruz kept the momentum going by scoring again thanks to some base-running aggression and another error from the Brewers. We extended our lead further when Spencer Steer launched a solo home run in the fourth inning, making it 3-0 Reds!
A Brewers Comeback
The Brewers began to show signs of life in the 5th inning, scoring their first run. The sixth inning was especially tough when Willy Adames delivered a three-run homer off Lucas Sims to flip the game on its head, making it 4-3 Brewers.
Relentless Brewers Extend the Lead
Another tough break followed in the seventh. A bunt single from Christian Yelich brought Brice Turang home, pushing the Brewers' lead to 5-3. Our bullpen struggled to contain Milwaukee's offensive surge.Late Game Drama
Elly De La Cruz gave us hope again in the 8th inning with a solo homer to make it 5-4. Then a clutch single from Candelario kept the pressure on. We were just inches away from tying it up but couldn't capitalize fully upon our opportunities.Heartbreak in the Ninth
As we entered the final inning, Stuart Fairchild managed to reach second base on an error, but a flyout by TJ Friedl left us needing a miracle. De La Cruz walked intentionally, and Santiago Espinal singled to center. Unfortunately, Fairchild got thrown out at home, ending the game in a painful 5-4 loss.
Great effort, and let's come back stronger in the next one! Go Reds!
