A Tough Loss for the Reds in D.C.
Fellow Reds fans, what a rollercoaster of a game we witnessed today! Though we came up short against the Washington Nationals with a final score of 10-8, our boys certainly showed some fight. It wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, but let’s dive into some of the key moments that kept us on the edge of our seats.

An Uphill Battle
The Nationals started strong in the bottom of the 1st inning, scoring four runs right off the bat. A crucial moment was Daylen Lile's triple which cleared the bases.
Reds Fight Back
It wasn't until the 4th inning that our bats came alive! Some key plays included an RBI single by Gavin Lux and a single from Spencer Steer that helped close the score gap to just 7-5. Salute to Elly De La Cruz for showing patience at the plate with consecutive walks, setting up opportunities for our hitters.
Late-Inning Drama
As the game wore on, Jose Trevino and Jake Fraley kept the pressure on, knocking in runs to keep us within reach. In the final inning, with the score at 10-6, Matt McLain and Lux chipped in with hits of their own, narrowing the Nationals' lead to 10-8. However, despite a valiant effort and capitalizing on wild pitches, we couldn't quite seal the deal in the 9th.
While it's disappointing to take the L, it's these moments of grit and determination that encourage us for the upcoming games. Let's keep supporting our Reds and remain hopeful for the next!
