Rough Day at the Ballpark for the Guardians
Oh boy, Guardians fans, what a game this was, and unfortunately, not in our favor.
A Bright Start That Quickly Dimmed
Things started hopefully enough in the first inning, where both teams remained scoreless. Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, and Carlos Santana couldn't quite get us on base during the first inning. Both pitchers were off to a good start, with Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, and Ryan O'Hearn keeping things grounded for the Orioles. But, alas, the second inning saw us take a heavy hit. Jackson Holliday launched a massive homer for the Orioles, driving in three more runs street after Cedric Mullins, Ryan Mountcastle, and Ramon Urias got on base. Suddenly, it was 4-0, and the Orioles were on top.

A Glimmer of Hope
We did get a bit of sunshine in the third inning, with Gabriel Arias smashing a spectacular 424-foot homer to give us our only run of the game. It was an invigorating moment that deserved applause, bringing the game to 4-1. However, our enthusiasm was slightly dimmed throughout the remainder of the game, as the Orioles’ defense held firm against our lineup. The Orioles' Onslaught
By the seventh inning, Ramon Laureano homered to extend their lead to 5-1. And in the eighth inning, the Orioles added insult to injury, getting four more runs across home plate thanks to strong performances from O'Hearn and Heston Kjerstad. Our boys ran out of juice trying to close the gap, with Naylor and Daniel Schneemann being unable to turn the tides back in our favor. It was not our day, Guardians faithful. But let's hold our heads up high and look forward to bouncing back. We'll get 'em next time! Let's continue supporting our boys in blue and red through thick and thin!
