A Slow Start, But the Twins Rally Late!
The Minnesota Twins hosted the Cleveland Guardians and emerged victorious with a final score of 6-2. While the game didn't start off great for us Twins fans, with the Guardians jumping ahead early, our team battled back and delivered a stellar performance as the game progressed.
Early Challenges
The top of the first inning had us biting our nails as the Guardians' Steven Kwan hit a homer, and then Bo Naylor brought in another run with a sacrifice fly. That left us trailing 2-0. Our Twins couldn't quite find their footing in the first inning, with Byron Buxton, Kody Clemens, and Austin Martin all unable to get on base. It was a quiet start, but optimism was in the air!
Finding Our Groove
In the bottom of the third inning, we started to find our rhythm. Byron Buxton doubled to right field, and Kody Clemens followed with a clutch single that allowed Buxton to put us on the scoreboard, bringing the score to 2-1. This began to shift the momentum in our favor, and what a relief it was to see!Turning the Tables
By the sixth inning, everything changed. Luke Keaschall pushed the momentum with a ground-rule double that put us in a good position. But it was Brooks Lee's two-run homer to right-center, scoring Keaschall, that really ignited the ballpark and gave us a 3-2 lead! As if that wasn’t enough excitement, in the seventh inning with two on base, Royce Lewis stepped up and blasted a three-run homer to left-center, making it 6-2 and sending every Twins fan into a frenzy!
Sealing the Victory
The Guardians tried to respond in the later innings, but our bullpen held them at bay, not allowing any more runs. Sands and Adams did an excellent job in the 8th and 9th innings to close the door on Cleveland’s hopes. What a game, and what a team! This comeback victory showcases the resilience and spirit of our Minnesota Twins. Let’s keep this momentum rolling into the next game. Go Twins!
