A Tense Beginning

The game started with a jolt as the Rockies took an early 2-0 lead, thanks to Ryan McMahon's two-run homer 😟. But our resilient Atlanta Braves quickly answered back in the bottom of the 1st! Ronald Acuña Jr. got the ball rolling with a double to left, and with a sacrifice fly from Matt Olson, Acuña Jr. crossed the plate to put us on the board, reducing the gap to 2-1.

Rocky Mid-Innings

The Rockies extended their lead to 4-1 by the middle of the 4th inning. But let's not forget — our team knows how to stage a comeback! After some quieter innings, the action heated up in the bottom of the 6th with Matt Olson's double, setting the scene for Michael Harris II to blast a three-run homer 💥 that tied the game, 4-4, and reenergized Truist Park.

The Braves Surge Ahead

By the bottom of the 7th, it was time for the Braves to shine! A flawless single from Alex Verdugo set things into motion. With Marcell Ozuna's three-run homer, we jumped to a 7-4 lead! The Braves didn't stop there. Harris II's heads-up baserunning in the 8th, exploiting their errors, allowed him to score, making it 8-4!

Then, like poetry in motion, Matt Olson smacked a single to right, overloading the bases and capitalizing on a throwing error for an additional three runs. With Ozuna's sacrifice fly adding another, our Braves soared to a 12-4 lead going into the final inning.

Closing it with Style

In the 9th, our pitchers ensured no room for the Rockies to claw back. Luke Lee closed the game strong, effortlessly dispatching McMahon and Doyle, with Orlando Arcia's foul ending it all. A stellar win for our Braves at 12-4, showcasing their power, resilience, and teamwork. Go Braves! 🎉🥇
