Recap of the Rockies Game Against the Cubs

Hey Rockies fans! 🌄 Although it wasn't the outcome we hoped for, it was certainly an eventful game as the Rockies took on the Cubs at Wrigley Field. The final score was 3-1, with the Cubs snatching the win, but let’s break down what happened throughout those 9 innings.

The Start of the Game

Though we started a bit rough at the top of the 1st inning with a couple of strikeouts from Jordan Beck and Ezequiel Tovar, and a groundout by Ryan McMahon, the team quickly picked up the pace. In response, the Cubs managed to score their first run thanks to a sequence finished by Dansby Swanson grounding out but bringing Ian Happ home. It was a shaky start, but our boys were ready to fight. ⚾

Moniak's Moment

By the 5th inning, the scoreboard finally lit up for the Rockies, courtesy of a spectacular home run by Mickey Moniak that soared 399 feet into right center! What a thrilling moment that tied the game 1-1! With Kyle Farmer following up with a single, things looked promising, even though we couldn't capitalize further in that inning. 👏

Cubs' Response and Rockies' Effort

The Cubs retaliated quickly in the bottom of the same inning, regaining the lead with a run batted in by Kyle Tucker. Despite solid efforts from the Rockies batting lineup, including a walk by Jordan Beck and a single from Ezequiel Tovar in the 8th inning, we just couldn't convert those into runs. Nevertheless, it was great to see the fight in our team, especially as our pitching crew, including Mejia and Agnos, worked to keep the Cubs' lineup largely at bay. It’s important to acknowledge the tight defense kept their bats mostly quiet in the latter innings. 👍🔒

Concluding the game in the 9th inning, the Cubs bullpen held their ground, closing out without allowing another score from our Rockies. Let’s keep cheering for our team, Rockies fans—the season still holds potential, and there are bright days ahead. 🌟 Until next time, go Rockies!
