A Rocky Start in Houston

Hey Rockies fans! 💜⚾️ Well, it was a tough game for us in Houston against the Astros, losing a nail-biter 4-3. 😓 Our bats started cold, with Tyler Freeman, Mickey Moniak, and Kyle Karros unable to shake things up in the top of the 1st. Unfortunately, the Astros jumped to a quick lead courtesy of homers from Jose Altuve and Christian Walker, putting us two runs behind right from the get-go.

Finding Our Groove

Our boys started making strides when Braxton Fulford and Yanquiel Fernández got on base in the 3rd inning, setting the stage for Mickey Moniak to get us on the board with a fielder's choice. It was a welcome sight as Ezequiel Tovar smashed a homer to right center in the 4th inning to make it 3-2, and Fernández came back strong in the 5th with a solo shot to even the game. 🤘 Mood lifted in Rocky Land as we saw real grit from our guys!

Close but No Cigar

Despite the hopeful rally, the 8th inning was a heartbreaker. Just as we thought we could hold them off, Walker went deep again, and we couldn’t recover. Our guys had some chances, but Moniak's 9th-inning single wasn’t quite enough to shift the balance back our way. The Astros managed to keep us at bay, sigh. Still, it was great to see the resilience from our Rockies. Onto the next one, Rockies Nation! Let’s keep our heads high and cheer on our boys! 🌟👏
