Tough Loss in KC, But What a Battle!
What a rollercoaster of emotions for us Colorado Rockies fans yesterday as we faced the Kansas City Royals! Although we didn't come away with the win, you've got to give props to our team for fighting till the very end! The game kicked off with both teams struggling to get hits in the first five innings, resulting in a scoreless beginning. A strong pitching duel was on display!
Late-Inning Drama Unfolds
Things finally got heated in the 6th inning when the Royals' Drew Waters knocked it out of the park with a homer, putting the Royals up 1-0. Despite our batters getting silenced by the relentless Kansas pitching, our Rockies didn't give up. In the top of the 9th inning, we saw some life when Jacob Stallings doubled to left, enabling a thrilling 3-run moment as Ryan McMahon, Hunter Goodman, and Michael Toglia sprinted home!
Heartbreak in the 11th
Into the 11th inning we went, with hopes high, but it just wasn't meant to be. The Royals managed to squeeze a run across the plate after navigating through bases loaded courtesy of some fine hustle from their squad, with Freddy Fermin delivering the final blow by singling to center. It was a tight one, but thank you Rockies for such an incredible effort and keeping us on the edge of our seats throughout. On to the next game, keeping our hopes and spirits alive! Let's go Rockies!
