Tough Game in Kansas City
It's always tough watching our Colorado Rockies when they can't quite seem to get things going. Today against the Kansas City Royals, it was one of those games. We fell to a 2-6 loss, and while there were some moments of hope, the Royals kept us at bay.To begin, we had Brenton Doyle get us started in the right way by drawing a walk in the top of the 1st inning. He even managed to steal second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize on the opportunity as Hunter Goodman flied out to end the inning.
Rockies Highlights
Despite the loss, there were some bright spots! The best part of the game had to be Jordan Beck showing his power with not just one, but two homers!

In addition, Jacob Stallings and Adael Amador both hit singles in the 2nd inning giving us hope, although it wasn't meant to be. Schunk and Doyle also contributed with singles in the 9th but again, we couldn't find the timely hits to bring more runs home.
Defensive Struggles and Costly Errors
The Royals were quick to pounce on our mistakes. They scored their first run in the bottom of the 2nd on a sacrifice fly, and things were further compounded by some wild pitches in the 5th inning from Dollander that allowed Royal runners to advance. Despite solid pitching from the relief crew, we couldn't quite keep them at bay.It was a tough outing defensively as well, with a crucial throwing error allowing the Royals to further extend their lead by the 8th inning. These types of errors can be costly, and today was proof of that.
Let's stay hopeful for the next game, Rockies fans! We've got the talent and with more consistent pitching and defense, we'll be back on the winning side soon! Go Rockies!
