Tough Start Against the Dodgers
Fellow Rockies fans, it wasn't quite the night we hoped for as we took on the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. The game started rough right from the bottom of the 1st inning when Shohei Ohtani singled and Mookie Betts blasted a two-run homer. Already, the score was 2-0 against us before we could blink. Our top of the order went down swinging, with Ryan McMahon striking out to end our 1st inning. Meanwhile, in the 3rd inning, Ohtani's solo homer pushed the Dodgers ahead to 3-0.
Struggling to Get on Base
For much of the early part of the game, we had a tough time getting on base. Nick Martini gave us a glimmer of hope with his double in the 4th, but it was followed by two crucial strikeouts by Kyler Farmer and Michael Toglia. By the time the 5th inning ended, the Dodgers had an additional run, courtesy of Will Smith's single that brought Betts home. The score stood at 4-0, with us needing to summon some Rockies magic to turn the tide. It got even tougher during the bottom of the 6th when the Dodgers extended their lead to 5-1.
A Lively 7th Inning Rally
Now to the sparks of excitement! The 7th inning was when the fans finally got something to cheer about. Mickey Moniak singled to start the inning, and then, in a fantastic display of power, Hunter Goodman crushed a 402-foot homer to center to bring us to within two runs!

Mid to Late Game Efforts
We had our chances, folks. In the 8th inning, Tovar and Farmer both reached base, but a couple of untimely groundouts ended our threat there. In our final push in the 9th, we saw Moniak hit yet another single. Sean Bouchard, pinch-hitting, whacked a single to left, putting Moniak on third. But it just wasn't to be; Jacob Stallings and Tovar couldn't bring them home, sealing a tough 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.Looking Forward
While we didn’t get the win today, there were certainly moments to build on. Martini, Farmer, Moniak, and Goodman showed resilience at the plate, and we’ll need more of that energy when we take on the Dodgers again. As always, keep the faith Rockies fans; there's still a lot of baseball left to play! Let's get them next time!
