Rockies Struggle in San Diego
Today's game against the San Diego Padres was a tough one for our Colorado Rockies

Early Innings
The game started off with promise as Kyle Farmer doubled in the 1st inning. Unfortunately, the offense couldn't capitalize, as Ezequiel Tovar and Ryan McMahon were unable to bring him home. The Padres faced a similar struggle initially, with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado unable to get on base in the bottom of the inning.
Padres Pull Ahead
Things started to unravel in the bottom of the 5th for our Rockies. A series of hits and fielding mishaps allowed the Padres to score six runs. Elias DÃaz, Xander Bogaerts, and Jose Iglesias all played key roles in getting runs on the board for San Diego. A fielding error by our catcher Hunter Goodman allowed the fourth run to cross the plate. Before we knew it, the Padres were up 6-0.
Home Runs Seal the Deal
Our boys found it difficult to regain momentum after that inning, with Kris Bryant and Nick Martini unable to get past the Padres' pitching. In the 6th inning, Tatis Jr. blasted a homer to center, stretching the Padres' lead to 7-0. Gavin Sheets added a homer of his own in the 7th, finalizing the score at 8-0.
Looking Forward
It was a rough game for the Rockies, and while it's always disappointing to face a shutout, there's always another day and another game ahead. Our bright spot today was Farmer, who consistently found his way to base with some solid hits. Let's hope the team can regroup and strike back in their next matchup. Go Rockies!
