Tough Day in San Diego

Hey Rockies fans! 😥 Last night's game against the San Diego Padres was a challenging one for our Colorado Rockies as we went down 3-11. While it wasn't the result we were hoping for, let's recap the highs and the lows from the game.

Rockies Start Strong

We got off to a promising start in the top of the first inning when Tyler Freeman showcased his skills with a double to center, and later scored from third base thanks to Jordan Beck's single. Those initial fireworks had us on the edge of our seats! 🎇 Blaine Crim tried to keep the momentum going but ended up striking out swinging. Still, it was awesome to see us take an early 1-0 lead.

Padres Power Surge

The Padres were relentless at the plate though, and swiftly answered back, beginning with Fernando Tatis Jr.'s two-run homer in the second inning. The Padres continued their offensive onslaught with Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill each hitting homers, propelling the Padres to a hefty lead. The fourth inning was particularly rough as a series of hits pushed the score to 9-1.

Freeman and Crim Shine, but Not Enough

Tyler Freeman continued to play solidly with another single in the 8th inning, and Blaine Crim brought some magic to a tough day with a two-run double that showed our fight, bringing the score to 9-3. 🎉 Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to turn the tide, especially after a two-run homer by the Padres' Bryce Johnson in the bottom of the 8th that sealed our fate.

On to the Next One

Let's keep our heads up, Rockies nation! The team fought hard and will learn from this experience. It's a long season, and we have plenty more opportunities to bounce back and show our true potential. Let's rally behind our boys and look forward to the next game! 🏔️🟣

Stay positive, and as always, go Rockies! ⚾
