Rockies Take the Lead Early

Hey Rockies fans! Our boys in purple faced off against the Seattle Mariners, and it was quite a rollercoaster 🎢. We kicked off with some solid defense in the first inning after Mickey Moniak flied out and Hunter Goodman grounded out. The Mariners didn't manage a hit, thanks to our awesome pitching and tight infield defense!

In the second inning, Jordan Beck got the ball rolling with a double to left. Following a strategic sacrifice bunt by Ezequiel Tovar, Beck advanced to third. It was Kyle Karros who brought Beck home, with an infield single that put us up 1-0. Way to capitalize on those opportunities, Rockies! 🎉

Holding the Mariners at Bay

Both teams had their struggles with making it on base. For three straight innings, our pitching crew kept the Mariners' bats quiet. Brenton Doyle was fierce in the center field, and our pitchers were dealing strikeouts left and right! It's always amazing to see Rockies defense working like a well-oiled machine. 💪

In the bottom of the 5th, the Mariners managed their first run with a homer from Dominic Canzone. But we responded in the top of the 6th when Mickey Moniak and Blaine Crim scored off a single by Tovar. We were cruising along at 3-1 with some solid momentum! 🙌

A Heartbreaker at the End

Everything changed in the bottom of the 8th. Despite our best efforts, the Mariners eked out a 4-3 lead with a double from Josh Naylor that cleared the bases. We couldn't quite catch a break as they capitalized on the hits and a couple of hit-by-pitches.

The top of the 9th was tough for our Rockies. Tovar, Doyle, and Karros all fought hard but couldn't manage to get on base. It was a tough pill to swallow, going down 3-4 after holding the lead for most of the game.

Let's keep our heads up, Rockies fans. There's plenty of baseball to be played, and our team has the grit to bounce back! Stay positive and keep cheering them on! 🌟⚾🌟
