Rockies Fall Short in Tight Game Against Cardinals
Hey Rockies fans!
️ Tough game today as we just came up short against the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 3-2. It was a hard-fought match with plenty of chances, but the Cards just managed to eke out a win.Solid Pitching and Defensive Effort
The pitchers were dealing both sides, keeping hitters at bay in the early innings. Our boys, especially Aaron Schunk stepping in defensively at second base, did a great job at keeping the game tight and minimizing damage against a powerful Cardinals lineup. Hats off to our pitchers who really kept us competitive today.
Key Moments and Battling to the End
We had our highlight moments! Jordan Beck and Mickey Moniak showed some grit in the 7th inning, combining to turn errors into runs that gave us the lead till halfway through the 8th inning.
It was a short-lived lead, however, as Brendan Donovan delivered a big hit for the Cards in the bottom of the eighth to push two runs across. We fought back in the 9th, with Warming Bernabel getting on base, but unfortunately couldn't string enough hits together to turn it around. It always stings to lose like this, but our Rockies played their hearts out and put up a commendable fight till the end.
Looking Forward
Let's keep looking forward as our team learns and grows from challenging games like this. We're set to face them again, and I have no doubt our Rockies will come roaring back strong.
