Victory in Miami!
What a game, Tigers fans! We traveled to Miami and claimed a gritty 2-0 victory over the Marlins. Our pitching staff absolutely shut down their lineup, and a couple of opportune plays were all we needed to secure the win. Let's dive into the action!Early Offensive Action
Though the top of the first inning was uneventful, the Tigers came to life in the top of the second. After Spencer Torkelson walked, Colt Keith reached on a fielding error that allowed Torkelson to score. Keith's hustle on the basepaths continued when he advanced to third on multiple errors by the Marlins. Not missing a beat, Dillon Dingler then singled to bring Keith home.
Dominant Pitching & Defense
Our pitchers were lights out today! No runs allowed as our boys kept Miami at bay. Multiple clutch plays in the field stopped the Marlins in their tracks, with Parker Meadows, Wenceel Perez, and the gang repeatedly coming through with critical outs. The Marlins could never find their rhythm against our stellar defense!
Closing the Deal
In the final innings, our bullpen preserved the shutout. Tommy Kahnle and Will Vest came in the clutch, holding the Marlins scoreless and sealing the victory as smooth as ever. A few last-stand swings from Miami couldn't change their fate.Way to go, Tigers! Onward and upward—let's keep this momentum rolling into our next series!
