A Tough Battle in Seattle

Our beloved Detroit Tigers went head-to-head against the Seattle Mariners in a game that had us on the edge of our seats. With both determination and grit, the Tigers fought hard but ultimately fell short with a final score of 3-2 in favor of the Mariners. Let's dive into how it all unfolded.

A Rocky Start

The game started off quietly, with both teams struggling to make significant headway. Riley Greene gave us some hope with a ground-rule double in the top of the first, but we couldn't capitalize, leaving us scoreless. In the bottom of the second, the Mariners capitalized with a double from Victor Robles that brought two runs home, setting the Tigers 0-2 against them.

A Glimmer of Hope

The momentum shifted when Trey Sweeney smashed a homer to right-center, getting Detroit on the board! 🙌 Later, Greene grounded out but allowed Ryan Kreidler to score from third, closing the gap to 3-2. It was thrilling to see our Tigers battling back, and hope was ignited within every Detroit fan.

Heartbreak in the Ninth

With the score still tight, the 9th inning brought intense drama. Colt Keith and Justyn-Henry Malloy worked in some crucial walks. Dillon Dingler, pinch-hitting, came out of nowhere with a single to load the bases, giving the Tigers a real chance to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. But unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. Javier Báez grounded into a fielder's choice, and McKinstry's strikeout ended our hopeful rally.

Though the result didn't swing in our favor, our Detroit Tigers put on a performance filled with determination and showed glimpses of brilliance. Detroit fans, let’s continue to cheer on our Tigers with pride as they dust off this close defeat and roar back stronger than ever in the next game! 🐅⚾
