Tigers Start Strong with a Dominant First Inning

What a start for the Detroit Tigers! 😃 Our boys came out swinging, literally, in the top of the first inning. Justyn-Henry Malloy kicked things off with a double to right, followed by an RBI single from Kerry Carpenter to bring Malloy home. Riley Greene then launched a stunning 377-foot homer to left, putting us up 2-0. As the inning continued, Spencer Torkelson got an infield single, followed by a walk to Colt Keith. After a flyout by Zach McKinstry, Dillon Dingler delivered an RBI single, and Trey Sweeney kept the momentum with another RBI single. Javier Báez capped off the inning by smashing a double that drove in two more runs, giving us an incredible 6-0 lead right out of the gate! 💥

Mariners Fight Back, but Tigers Hold Strong

The Mariners tried to mount a comeback in the bottom half and following innings. Randy Arozarena got them on the board with a solo homer in the second inning. They managed to score more in the subsequent innings, capitalizing on a few walks and errors, reducing our lead to 8-4 by the 5th inning. But our relievers stepped up! Wilmer Flores came in to keep them at bay, and Riley Greene and Colt Keith showed solid defense. Further credit to our bullpen with Angel De Jesus and Andrew Vasquez, who maintained composure from the mound. 💪

Closing Down the Mariners for the Win

Despite the Mariners making it a bit tense in the ninth, thanks to a two-run homer by Cal Raleigh, our Tigers showed resilience and held on for a well-earned victory at 9-6. 🎉 It was a fantastic team effort, and hats off to Dillon Dingler with multiple hits and Javier Báez for driving in key runs. That fiery team spirit in the first inning set the tone, and we never looked back. We Tigers fans can roar with pride today! Let's keep this momentum going! 🐯🙌
