Tigers Start Strong, But Rangers Pull Ahead
The Detroit Tigers faced off against the Texas Rangers in what seemed to be a promising start for our boys. With Colt Keith and Gleyber Torres leading the charge, the first inning saw Torres working his way to a walk. Unfortunately, our other hitters couldn't find their rhythm, leaving us scoreless. On the defensive side, a combination of skilled pitching and fielding by the Tigers locked the Rangers out of scoring as well.
Rangers Seize the Lead
The tide shifted in the second inning. A big hit from Rangers' Rowdy Tellez resulted in a three-run homer after Adolis García had made his way to second with a single and stolen base. It's tough to see our pitchers give up such a rocket, but they quickly regained focus, closing the inning without further damage. Sadly, our bats remained quiet throughout the following innings, struggling to get that big hit when it counted.
A Glimmer of Hope
The Rangers added one more run in the fifth, but our bullpen kept them quiet after that. In the final inning, Riley Greene launched a beautiful homeroom to right center, going 387 feet. A lovely way to remind everyone of the talent lurking in Detroit's lineup! Even though the late rally came up short, ending in a 4-1 loss, the Tigers showcased flashes of potential. Here's hoping they carry this energy into the next game and turn those flashes into a powerful, full-game display!
