Early Struggles at the Plate

Unfortunately for us, this game began with a quiet Toronto offense, despite a promising double by Bo Bichette in the first inning. It was a frustrating start, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Daulton Varsho, and George Springer couldn’t capitalize, leaving Bichette stranded. At the same time, the Tigers managed to draw first blood with Riley Greene smacking a homer in the second inning. 😔

Finding Our Rhythm... Slowly

The 5th inning added salt to our wounds as the Tigers extended their lead to 4-0 with key hits by Greene and McKinstry. But, not all hope was lost! The 6th inning finally saw us crack the scoreboard. Daulton Varsho smashed a two-run homer, bringing Guerrero Jr. home and cutting the deficit in half. 🔥🔥

A Hard-Fought Comeback Falls Short

As the tension built, Myles Straw made vital contributions in the 7th with a single that drove Addison Barger home, narrowing the Tigers' lead to one. 😮 This, however, was followed by Javier Báez's home run in the 8th that momentarily dampened our spirits. Bo Bichette quickly responded with a solo shot, keeping us within striking distance.

In the end, despite thrilling efforts and putting two men on base in the ninth, we couldn't bring them home. Ernie Clement pinch-hitting for Jonatan Clase was our last chance but grounded out, and we ultimately fell 5-4 to the Tigers. 😩

What a rollercoaster of emotions! While the game didn't go our way, the valiant effort in the later innings certainly showed our fighting spirit! Onward, Blue Jays! 💙🦅
