Astros Power Up with Caratini's Grand Slam!
The Houston Astros came out swinging against the Colorado Rockies, proving once again why we have one of the best lineups in the league. The game started quietly for the Astros, with both Isaac Paredes and Jake Meyers unable to reach base in the top of the 1st. Jose Altuve flied out to end the inning, but we didn't stay silent for long. In the bottom of the first, the Rockies were the first to score with a solo home run by Hunter Goodman, but that didn't faze our boys. The top of the 2nd was when the initial breakthrough came, as Cam Smith and Victor Caratini both singled, setting the stage for Christian Walker to drive Smith home and tie the game at 1-1.
Dominating the Third Inning
The third inning was an explosion of Houston power! Mauricio Dubón reached base with a single, followed by Paredes walking. A Rockies' pickoff error allowed Dubón to move to third. Then it was Meyers' turn to shine, as he grounded into a fielder's choice but brought home Dubón, giving us the lead for the first time. But the real star of the inning was Victor Caratini who hammered a thrilling grand slam, blasting a soaring shot 413 feet to right field. That massive homer brought home Meyers, Altuve, and Smith, skyrocketing the Astros' score to 6-1. It was pure magic on the field!

Holding Firm Despite Rockies' Rally
The Rockies didn't go down quietly as Goodman added another solo home run in the bottom of the 9th, giving fans a brief scare by closing the gap to 6-5. However, with Josh Hader sealing the game, striking out the final batters, we held firm. Our bullpen deserves applause for ensuring the lead stayed intact with some great relief pitching by Okert, Sousa, King, and Abreu. This game showcased the Astros' combined strength in both offense and pitching. With performances like these, we're only gearing up for more exciting wins this season. Let's keep this momentum, Astros!
