Tough Day at American Family Field

Well, folks, it was a difficult game for our Milwaukee Brewers as we faced off against the Houston Astros, falling 9-1. Despite our best efforts, the Astros' offense proved to be a formidable challenge. Let's dive into some of the key moments from the game. ⚾

Early Innings Battle

The first few innings were a defensive showdown with neither team able to score in the first. However, by the end of the 2nd inning, the Astros managed to get on the board with Jake Meyers scoring after a double by Zach Dezenzo. Our bats, led by Daz Cameron and Caleb Durbin, were able to start something in the bottom of the second, but a double play cut our momentum short.

Astros Extend the Lead

By the 5th inning, the Astros capitalized on a few mishaps with Jeremy Peña and Brendan Rodgers advancing the score to 3-0. Our Eric Haase delivered a glimmer of hope with a massive homer in the bottom of the 5th, slicing the Astros' lead to 3-1. However, the Astros answered quickly in the 6th inning with a crushing home run by Peña, stretching the lead further.

Late-Inning Struggles

As the game progressed, we struggled to find our rhythm at the plate. The Astros' pitching kept us at bay, while they continued to add runs, notably in the 9th inning when Isaac Paredes and Yainer Diaz each drove in runs, firmly putting them ahead 9-1. In the bottom of the 9th, Rhys Hoskins tried to rally with a double, but we couldn't quite string together enough hits to mount a comeback.

Though it wasn't the result we hoped for, we'll regroup and come out swinging in the next game. Let's keep supporting our team, and Go Brew Crew! 🍺
