Grit and Heart in a Nail-Biter Loss to the Astros
Twins fans, tonight was a rollercoaster
Strong Start Made Us Hopeful
The game began with a strong showing by our Twins! In the bottom of the 1st, Matt Wallner got us going with a single to right followed by a smart eye by Carlos Correa to get on base. Byron Buxton and Trevor Larnach executed perfectly to bring in runs, capped off by Ryan Jeffers with a critical double that put us up 3-1 by the end of the inning. By the end of the 4th, we were sitting comfortably with a 7-1 lead thanks to timely hits from Buxton and another perfect swing by Larnach.Astros' Comeback and Our Stubborn Defense
The middle innings saw the Astros slowly claw their way back as they chipped away at our lead. We saw some great defensive plays, like Jose Miranda's presence at third and Ty France holding down first, but a critical error allowed the Astros to inch closer. Relievers did their best to maintain our lead, but the Astros just wouldn't go quietly. Even when Jhoan Duran took the mound, their bats stayed hot.Extra Innings Drama
Heading into extra innings tied at 7-7, it was anyone’s game. The 10th inning was rough as Houston capitalized on some small plays to squeeze in two runs. Our valiant efforts, unfortunately, fell short in the bottom of the inning despite hard-hit balls and aggressive attempts by Harrison Bader and Christian Vazquez, who were both unable to ignite the comeback we were all cheering for.Minnesota Twins fans, tough nights like these show the character of our team. While this wasn't the outcome we wanted, we battled. Let’s take the positives and get ready for the next game because we know how to bounce back!
