Astros Start Strong
The Houston Astros set the tone early with a bang as Jose Altuve sent a towering home run over the left-field fence in the top of the 1st inning, giving us a 1-0 lead.
Maintaining Momentum
The 3rd inning shined some bright hope as Jose Altuve singled, followed by Christian Walker's crucial double that let Altuve cross the plate. Our lead stretched to 2-0, and the Yankee Stadium atmosphere felt even more in our favor. In quintessence fashion, the Astros showcased resilient batting in the 5th inning thanks to another crucial hit by Cam Smith, whose double brought Carlos Correa and Christian Walker home, expanding our lead to a comfortable 4-0.
Late-Inning Surge and A Commanding Win
Our fighting spirit persisted through the match, but the 9th inning sealed it beautifully! Carlos Correa launched a solo home run to further our lead to 5-1, making sure the crowd knew the Astros weren't done yet. Following up, Ramon Urias entered and singled to drive Altuve in, and Mauricio Dubon capitalized thereafter with another RBI single, enhancing the Astros' lead to an emphatic 7-1. As the curtains drew on the bottom of the 9th, Michael King smoothly closed out the game with a series of strikeouts.This match saw our Astros' strong showing both offensively and defensively culminate into a resounding victory over the Yankees.
