Dominant Pitching and Nootbaar’s Big Blow Lead to Victory
What a game, Cardinals fans!
Our Redbirds faced off against the Houston Astros and delivered a solid performance, securing a 4-1 win. It all started slow with the Astros managing to get on the board first in the top of the 1st inning when a groundout by Isaac Paredes allowed Jose Altuve to score. However, our pitching lineup kept their bats quiet for the rest of the game. Kudos to our pitchers for keeping their composure and not letting the early run rattle them. 3rd Inning Magic by Lars Nootbaar
After a tense few innings with both teams showing solid defense, things turned around in the bottom of the 5th inning thanks to Lars Nootbaar
. With Victor Scott II and Thomas Saggese on base, Nootbaar crushed a 418-foot homer to center field, giving us a thrilling lead of 3-1. Nootbaar's performance was a clear testament to his power and precision at the plate today. 
Adding Insult to Injury and Securing the Win
The Cardinals weren't done yet! In the bottom of the 6th inning, Thomas Saggese’s double added another nail in the coffin by bringing Jordan Walker home, pushing our lead to 4-1. Our bullpen was outstanding throughout, with Helsley closing it out effectively in the 9th inning. The Astros had few answers to our well-rounded game, and we wrapped up the win in style.Our Redbirds looked fantastic tonight, proving once again that teamwork and perseverance can lead to great victories. Looking forward to seeing our guys keep up this momentum in the games ahead!
