A Disappointing Finish in Houston
Well, Royals fans, that was a tough one.
Fast Start With Promising Signs
We started off strong, with Bobby Witt Jr. kickstarting our offense early in the game with a triple in the 1st inning. Although we couldn’t capitalize right away, Maikel Garcia stepped up as a hero in the 2nd inning with a powerful homer to left, putting us on the board and adding another run with his fantastic double in the 5th. Jonathan India also contributed, getting an RBI double in the 2nd, and things seemed to be going our way.Astros Rally Past the Royals
The Astros made it a closer game after Isaac Paredes homered in the 4th inning. We maintained our lead thanks to some solid defense and pitching, but the tide turned in the 8th inning. With the game tied at 3-3, Mauricio Dubón doubled to left, bringing in the tying run, and then Jeremy Peña squeaked a single past to seamlessly edge the Astros ahead. It was a heartbreaker as we fell behind after having the lead for so long.A Tough Ninth Inning
In the 9th inning, we hoped for a bit of Royals’ magic, particularly when Bobby Witt Jr. walked and then stole second to put himself in scoring position. However, the clutch hit never came as Vinnie Pasquantino lined out to center to end the game. It was a valiant effort from the boys, but the win slipped away.Chin up, Royals fans – we’ll bounce back from this and hopefully turn things around in the next one. Let's keep supporting our boys on the road!
