Heartbreak in Oakland
What an emotional rollercoaster for us Royals fans as Kansas City came up just short against the Athletics in Oakland. Despite a strong showing for much of the game, the Royals were dealt a crushing blow at the bottom of the 9th inning, losing 4-3.
A Strong Start and a Solid Lead
The game started as a pitching duel with both sides struggling to generate any offense through the first three innings. But in the top of the 4th, Jonathan India brought us Royals fans to our feet with an electrifying 358-foot homer, scoring Maikel Garcia and Carter Jensen.
The 9th Inning Blues
Our bullpen held firm down the stretch until a heartbreaking bottom of the 9th inning. After a promising strikeout by Lawrence Butler, the Athletics found their form. Shea Langeliers delivered the decisive hit, a double to center field that brought home the winning run, snatching the victory from us. It was a tough way to end, but we remain proud of the effort our Royals showed out there. We'll regroup and get them next time, Royals fans! Keep the faith!
