Royals Start Strong
What an exciting game for us Kansas City Royals fans!
The game kicked off with a bang as our very own Bobby Witt Jr. sent the ball soaring with a solo home run in the top of the 1st inning, giving us an early 1-0 lead against the San Diego Padres. It's always great to see Witt Jr. flexing his power early in the game! 
Stellar Pitching and Defense
The Royals' defense and pitching were on fire through the first four innings, holding the Padres scoreless. Our pitchers skillfully navigated through some sticky situations, with Lorenzen and others keeping the Padres' bats in check. A big shoutout to our defense for not allowing any runs early in the game. The pressure was on, but our boys handled it like pros.
Royals Extend the Lead
The game saw another highlight in the top of the 5th inning when Jonathan India blasted a three-run homer into left center, pushing our lead to 4-0. With Fermin and Loftin on base, India's homer was the perfect boost we needed. It's moments like these that make the Royals' lineup so thrilling to watch.
Royals Seal the Victory
Though the Padres made a valiant effort to come back, the Royals weren't going to let this one slip away. In the top of the 8th inning, Salvador Perez and Drew Waters both stepped up with crucial hits to bring in two more runs, raising our tally to 6-4. John Rave, showing speed and aggression on the base paths, scored the pivotal insurance run.
Thrilling Finish
The bottom of the 9th was a nail-biter when Manny Machado homered, bringing the Padres closer at 5-6. But, our bullpen held firm with Estévez slamming the door shut on any hopes of a Padres win. The game ended with a glorious victory for the Royals. We prevailed with a 6-5 win, showcasing both talent and tenacity.
