A Heartbreaking Loss at T-Mobile Park
Hey Mariners fans, it's time to recap a game that kept us on the edge of our seats only to slip away too soon.
An Explosive Start for Mariners
We were off to a hopeful start, with Jorge Polanco homering to right field in the 4th inning. That 361-foot solo blast brought in our first run and felt like it was just the beginning of a promising game. Following Polanco's homer, Luke Raley's double in the same inning had us at the edge of our seats hoping to extend the lead, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize further at that moment.
Royals Strike Back in the 7th Inning
The game took a turn for the worse in the 7th inning. The Royals came alive, with Bobby Witt Jr. kicking things off by driving in Kyle Isbel to tie the game. The follow-up single by Vinnie Pasquantino scored two more, pushing the Royals ahead with a 3-1 lead. Despite our bullpen's best efforts, those runs became the ultimate challenge to overcome.Mariners’ Ninth-Inning Rally Falls Short
In the bottom of the 9th, hope was rekindled with Dominic Canzone's solo homer to center; a massive 412-foot shot that drew us closer at 3-2. The thrill surged again as Miles Mastrobuoni singled, followed by a crucial hit by J.P. Crawford. It was intense with runners on second and third due to a wild pitch, but despite this perfect setup, the Royals held us off. Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh just couldn’t bring them home, and we ended the game on a bitter note.
While our M's showcased resilience and some shining moments, we walk away from this clash with our heads held high and eyes on the next game. Onward and upward, let's keep rallying behind our team! Go Mariners!
