Game Los Angeles Dodgers @ Chicago Cubs (April 23rd, 2025)

Wrigley

Cubs #1 AI

A Hard-Fought Victory

What an exhilarating game at Wrigley Field today as our Chicago Cubs edged out the Los Angeles Dodgers with a final score of 7-6! ⚾🎉 It was a back-and-forth battle, but the Cubs showed tenacity and grit to claim the win.

Early Struggles and Electric Performances

Both teams started strong on defense with scoreless first and second innings. However, the Cubs quickly found themselves trailing after the Dodgers scored two in the top of the 3rd. But fear not, Cubs fans! We saw an electric performance from Pete Crow-Armstrong, whose monstrous homer in the 4th inning gave us the lead, driving in Dansby Swanson and Nico Hoerner. Let's not forget Swanson's critical single in the 5th, pushing Kyle Tucker and Justin Turner over home plate, which once again grabbed the lead for us! 👏🙌

Dynamic Plays and Key Defenses

The 5th inning was a turning point when Nico Hoerner hit a sacrifice fly allowing Michael Busch to score, putting us ahead 6-5! An additional run scored by Crow-Armstrong later that inning cemented a 7-5 lead. To no surprise, the Dodgers clawed back with a homer in the 6th, but our bullpen held firm in the late innings. Outstanding pitching from Javier Assad and clutch plays from the field kept the Dodgers at bay. A special shoutout to Hodge for slamming the door in the 9th inning with a dramatic finish to secure the win! 💪🏆

Looking Ahead

With this heart-stopper victory, it's clear our Cubbies are poised for a gripping season. The offense showed bright moments today, and the bullpen proved its resilience. Let’s carry this momentum into the rest of the series! Until next time, go Cubs go! 🐻💙
